Savannah's Arrival by Hesara Kahandawa

“NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! IF YOU LOVE ME THEN CAN YOU COME OUTTA WHERE YOU’RE HIDING AND STAND OVER HERE??!!” I yell loudly, I’m also pretty sure that all of Ahoy could hear me.
“Nat!! I’ll give you twenty bucks if you come out!”
I wait a bit, hoping to see a little face pop out from behind a broken building. Nothing. That was strange. The twenty bucks bribery trick usually works.
“Did you find him?” Came a familiar voice, but the voice didn’t come anywhere behind me, or in front of me, or even underneath me.
“Savannah!” I cry, “what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be at the Dragonridge Mountains?”
“Yeah, but I heard you yelling something about Nat and twenty bucks, and thought I’d come over and see what’s going on. You’re really loud for someone so small,” she said, and patted me on the head with one huge talon.
“Nat’s missing,” I tell her sadly, “we’ve been searching for ages.”
I looked up at Savannah, who had a HUGE amount of sympathy in her eyes, like, she was literally bawling her eyes out.
“That’s… just…s-so… SAD!!! WAHHH!” She covered her eyes with her talons, but they were dripping with large salty tears.
“There, there…” I say awkwardly, I never know the right things to say in emotional moments, so I just patted her stiffly on the shoulder.

Suddenly, an unusual amount of courage swept over her. It was actually sorta scary.
“We must find him! C’mon! Let’s go!” Savannah said dramatically, and crouched, waiting for me to hop on.
“Woah woah woah… back it up a bit Savannah, yes, I do want to find my little bro as much as you do, but you know I absolutely HATE flying, right? It totally FREAKS ME OUT!”
“Oooooh yeaaaah! Like that time where you accidentally grabbed me while I was flying and you screamed your head off!” Savannah laughed.

To be continued…
